You are welcome to visit any Lodge at any time, but so that the Lodge can provide for the best possible experience for you, use the email listed with each Lodge to let the Lodge Secretary know that you plan to visit. Establishing your credentials ahead of time will make your experience more pleasant.

Be aware that when visiting in Pennsylvania you are required to have a paid-up current year's dues card or receipt, a Travel Certificate, or other proof of membership and current good standing, with you. If no member can vouch for you, the Tyler of the Lodge will arrange for a committee to meet with you in the Examining Room, to verify your credentials and claims that you are a Mason. You should be prepared to prove your Masonic membership in an appropriate manner, although there is no specific ritualistic form that you should follow. Each Grand Lodge instructs its member how to prove their membership—be prepared to do that, and we will be satisfied.

We want you to feel comfortable and welcome when you are with us. We provide courtesy aprons for members and visitors, but you are most welcome to wear your traditional Masonic dress when visiting. Our preferred minimum dress code for our members would be what is considered "business dress" today—a suit, or a coat and tie, nice pants and shoes—no denim or sneakers. Lodge officers wear tails, or tuxedo, white traditional-collared tux shirts and a black bow tie. From 2010-2013 we experimented with a "business casual" dress code, but the members overwhelmingly rejected it, and the traditional dress code was restored in 2014. We welcome visitors to our meetings and if you plan ahead, we hope you will observe our dress code, but if you are in town on business and discover that a meeting is happening and you only have "business casual" clothing, we'll still welcome you. Please come and join us for Masonic inspiration and fellowship!

You can take a guided tour of the Masonic Temple in Philadelphia. If you are interested in attending a Lodge meeting contact our Grand Secretary's office several weeks before you come to Philadelphia and they will be able to tell you what nights the Lodges are conducting stated (business/program) meetings, or what degrees they might be conferring. You can reach them at or by calling (215) 988-1900 when you get to Philadelphia.
